Dodgers Take 2-0 Lead In NLCS With 5-1 Victory Over Brewers

The Los Angeles Dodgers have seized a commanding 2-0 lead in the National League Championship Series against the Milwaukee Brewers, securing a decisive 5-1 victory in Game 2. The standout performance came from pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto, who delivered a complete-game three-hitter, becoming the first Dodger since 2004 to achieve a postseason complete game.

Yamamoto's outing was marked by resilience and precision. After conceding a leadoff home run to Jackson Chourio, he settled into a rhythm, allowing no further runs and striking out seven batters over 111 pitches. His dominance on the mound was instrumental in limiting the Brewers' offense, which managed only five hits across the first two games of the series.

Offensively, the Dodgers responded swiftly to Yamamoto's early setback. Teoscar Hernández and Max Muncy each contributed solo home runs, while Shohei Ohtani and Tommy Edman added key RBIs. This balanced offensive effort ensured the Dodgers maintained control throughout the game.

Brewers' starter Freddy Peralta, who led the National League in wins during the regular season, pitched 5 2/3 innings, surrendering three runs. Despite his efforts, the Brewers' offense struggled to generate significant scoring opportunities against the Dodgers' pitching staff.

Looking ahead, Game 3 is scheduled for Thursday in Los Angeles. With the Dodgers holding a 2-0 series advantage, they are poised to extend their lead, leveraging the momentum from their strong performances in the opening games.
